Kidman takes minimum wage for Eucalyptus
17/01/2005 - 08:28:05Nicole Kidman will be paid just $570 (€430)-a-week to star in her next movie - less than half what her make-up artist will earn.
The Oscar winner is accepting the Australian minimum wage to appear alongside Russell Crowe in Eucalyptus, in a bid to help the country's movie industry.
Kidman recently hit out at speculation about her earnings. When asked about her salary for Eucalyptus, she snapped: "(Salary stories are) intrusive. Do you ask your neighbour what are they earning for their job? Why should I have to put up with it?"
