Rain threat to Haydock
07/01/2005 - 16:01:07Haydock’s meeting tomorrow is subject to a precautionary inspection at 7am due to the threat of heavy overnight rain.
The going at the Merseyside venue is already described as heavy and up to 30 millimetres of rain may fall before racing.
“We have had 4mm up until 2.30 this afternoon and the forecast does not look good,” said clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright.
“There is an enormous storm circling around the north-west of England and I would say that we are about 50-50 to race tomorrow.”
