Govt sets up task force to examine secondary school discipline

07/01/2005 - 07:41:59
The Department of Education has announced plans to establish a task force to examine the issue of discipline among pupils in secondary schools.

The body will be chaired by Maeve Martin from the Education Faculty at NUI Maynooth and will be asked to examine the extent and impact of disruptive student behaviour.

It will also consider the effectiveness of current policies to deal with indiscipline and make recommendations to the Government about how they could improve these policies.

The task force is due to report back in June.
