Hoffman finds compliments difficult to handle
05/01/2005 - 11:05:32Movie legend Dustin Hoffman is so "hopeless" at accepting compliments, he pretends fans are talking about his pseudo-twin.
The Meet the Fockers star still gets embarrassed when stopped by well-wishers in the street and copes by mentally telling himself they are not complimenting him.
He says: "I'm hopeless at taking compliments. So when people say to me: 'You're an icon', it's almost like they're talking about some twin of mine.
"I almost want to say: 'Oh I'll tell him you said that. He'll be pleased'."
