Tidour blow for Webber
Tidour has been ruled out for the season after his trainer Paul Webber found heat in one of his tendons.
The eight-year-old was the leading breadwinner for Webber’s Banbury yard last season, taking two novice contests as well as landing an emphatic nine-length victory in the Red Rum Chase at Aintree in April.
He had been due to reappear at Cheltenham next month.
“Tidour is not going to make it this year,” Webber told Racing UK.
“We were getting him ready for the Victor Chandler Chase at Cheltenham, which was his main aim, and I am afraid he got a little heat in a tendon, which is the one he did badly three years ago.
“We had a wonderful year with him last year and got a great race out of him. He is lightly-raced, still very athletic, so we will have to delay our plans, but it is a big sadness when you lose your biggest gun.
