Tánaiste welcomes McAleese nursing fees decision
22/12/2004 - 14:22:56Tánaiste Mary Harney today welcomed the decision by President McAleese to refer the Government's new legislation on nursing home fees to the Supreme Court, saying it would “bring certainty to the legal situation”.
The Tánaiste added: “Within the next 60 days we can expect a definitive ruling by the Supreme Court on this matter.
“This will avoid protracted legal challenges through different courts and the stress and uncertainty imposed on people in public long term care, particularly the elderly.”
