Changes to milk quota system announced

Minister for Agriculture Mary Coughlan has announced significant changes to the milk quota system.

The changes include the introduction of a fixed price of 17.5c per litre for the sale of quotas next year.

Minister Coughlan says the new price took account of decoupled support payments and the fact quota sold next year would not include the value of the decoupled dairy premium.
