ICTU youth branch launches guide to workers’ rights
22/12/2004 - 10:43:59The youth branch of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) has launched a new booklet to inform young people and part-time workers of their employment rights.
Launching the credit card-sized guide today, the organisation said many young people and part-time workers are unaware that they are being denied rights in the workplace.
ICTU's youth branch said the main areas that staff should be aware of are the right to a safe workplace free from harassment, the right to annual leave, the right to benefit from public holidays, the right to a pay slip, the right to a statement of terms and conditions, the right to equal treatment and other rights relating to working time.
