United's Djordjic looks for Gers switch

22/11/2004 - 15:42:24
Manchester United midfielder Bojan Djordjic has been handed the chance to win a move to Rangers.

The 22-year-old trained at the Ibrox side’s Murray Park training complex earlier today with the rest of the Rangers team.

The week-long trial provides him with the opportunity to impress manager Alex McLeish with the January transfer window looming.

Djordjic‘s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season but it is understood that the Barclay‘s Premiership side would be willing to let him go in January.

He has failed to make the breakthrough at Manchester United and will probably be better known south of the border for his short loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday a couple of years ago, featuring five times for the Owls.

One player who will be familiar with the midfielder is Rangers‘ Serbian star Dragan Mladenovic.

The two played together at Red Star Belgrade last season, winning the league and cup double.

Finnish defender Jukka Santala also trained with Rangers today in the hope of winning a deal.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at HJK Helsinki next month.
