Glen Dimplex to expand in Japan and UK

Irish-owned domestic appliance group Glen Dimplex has set up a joint venture company in Japan.

Glen Dimplex has teamed up with Globally Incorporated, a subsidiary of one of Japan's largest house builders, Matsumoto Kenko, to form Glen Dimplex Japan to market and distribute the group's electric heating and domestic fire products.

Meanwhile the Irish-based multinational has made another acquisition in Britain.

Glen Dimplex has taken over Halstead Boilers Ltd., an Essex based manufacturer of gas domestic central heating boilers.

Halstead has 120 employees, a turnover of €30m and a 5% share in the UK market for gas domestic central heating boilers.
