Health workers vote for industrial action
19/11/2004 - 12:37:29Health service staff have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action after the result of IMPACT's ballot of 15,000 members was revealed today.
In the ballot of 15,000 members employed by health boards, industrial action has been supported by a margin of 88% to 12%.
Staff directly employed by health boards fear for their jobs and working conditions ahead of the implementation of the new Health Service Executive, which comes into effect on January 1.
