English turns down Model job
17/11/2004 - 17:36:38Former Tipperary player and manager Nicky English has turned down an offer by Wexford to become their new hurling boss.
The former All-Ireland winning manager was approached by county board officials who are keen to find a successor to John Conran, who resigned as manager of the Leinster champions following their 18-point All-Ireland semi-final defeat to eventual champions Cork.
It's believed that English was not interested in the position.
Former U21 manager Seamus Murphy is the preferred choice of the players, but he has not yet been offered the position.
