Begley to return to Limerick fold

Former Limerick dual player Brian Begley is set to return to training in January following an 18-month lay-off through injury.

The Mungret clubman, who gave up hurling to concentrate on football, after hurling boss Padjoe Whelahan indicated that the dual players should choose between the codes, had surgery on his ankle last week and hopes to resume training in January.

He has been named on Liam Kearns' football panel, but not on the hurling panel, despite linking up with the squad for weight training recently.
