Grant disappointed by script-writing failure

16/11/2004 - 10:40:56
British hunk Hugh Grant is disappointed he hasn't fulfilled his dream of writing a "brilliant script", despite entering semi-retirement.

The 44-year-old has taken small parts in movies like Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Love, Actually to give him more time to pen a small independent movie, but he admits he's still waiting for inspiration.

He complains: "I am sort of semi-retired. I did a smallish role in Love, Actually and a smallish role in the new Bridget Jones film, but I'm not in any hurry to sit in big development meetings and make great big commercial films.

"I do have a touch of apathy about that now. I keep thinking I'll use the time to write a brilliant script. But I've done b**ger all."
