Protest march against asbestos recycling plant
14/11/2004 - 11:21:46A march is planned this afternoon in Killala, Co Mayo, to protest against plans to build an asbestos recycling plant near the town.
Locals say they will not act as a dump for the rest of the country.
The company seeking planning permission for the plant insists it will be operated safely, despite fears by residents.
Local TD Dr Jerry Cowley says the people of Killala will do everything they can to prevent the plant from being built.
