Below-cost selling ban may be lifted

The Government is considering lifting a ban on below-cost selling.

This could see the price of food and groceries drop dramatically if the plan goes ahead.

A consumer strategy group, set up by the Government, wants to the revoke the current groceries order that was introduced after a supermarket price war more than 10 years ago.

The Consumers' Association says that the move would be a welcome one and the decision on lifting the ban must be made as quickly as possible.
