ISEQ up on mixed day for financials

Business services support services DCC had a good day, gaining 21c (1.3%) to €15.94.
Irish Life & Permanent dropped 17c (1.2%) to close at €13.48.
Bank of Ireland was today’s most highly-traded share, as it announced pre-tax profits up 6%. It closed up 11c (1%) at €11.07.
AIB and Anglo Irish Bank both finished the day up 9c, at €14.37 and €15.79 respectively.
Pharmaceutical company Elan dropped 23c (1%) to €22.57 on the announcement that it is to raise $1.15bn through issue of debt.
Building materials group CRH gained 10c to close at €19.50, while Ryanair dropped 2c to €5.05.
