Wragg out to hit the Heights

21/10/2004 - 15:26:21
Geoff Wragg’s pair Asian Heights and The Whistling Teal are among a field of eight declared for the Stan James St Simon Stakes at today’s 48-hour final stage.

The Whistling Teal lifted this Group Three prize in 2002 when defeating Warrsan but was only fifth to Imperial Dancer 12 months ago.

Asian Heights is on the comeback trail having been off the track with leg problems since winning the Ormonde Stakes at Chester last May.

Collier Hill, re-routed from this weekend’s Canadian International, represents Richmond trainer Alan Swinbank, while Pat Chamings runs dual purpose performer Self Defense.

Last year’s winning trainer Mick Channon saddles Top Seed, while other three-year-olds taking on older horses are Massif Centrale from David Elsworth’s stable, Mick Quinlan’s Frank Sonata and the James Eustace-trained Orcadian.
