Foxx hates the 'n' word and bad memories
Jamie Foxx hates being referred to as a 'n**ger' by friends because he despised being called the derogatory term when he was a teenager in Texas.
The actor used to play piano at Christmas parties for well-to-do white families in Texas and he hated it when the master of the house called him the 'n' word.
The Collateral star tells urban magazine Sister 2 Sister: "When I was 15 I played the piano. That's how I made my money..
"So I would play for the mayor of the town who was having something at this big house and it's me and my friend. He drives me there.
"This white dude opened the door and said: 'What's going on here? I can't have two n**gers in my house at once. Only one of you can come in.'"
The racial taunting didn't stop there. Guests would poke fun at his colour and Foxx wouldn't be allowed to wait in the house for his friend to pick him up.
He recalls: "(It's) around nine and I told my boy to be back at 9.30 so it's 30 minutes. (The host) said: 'You're gonna have to wait outside, up the street'.
"Now that's Christmas in Texas. That's like 37 degrees."
