ISEQ rises as Elan shares climb again
21/10/2004 - 12:10:09The ISEQ index has climbed 9.43 today to stand at 5,597.34 in trading today, with Elan shares on the climb again.
The Irish pharmaceutical giant's shares have leaped 50c today and stand at €19. Elan shares have climbed following speculation earlier this week of a possible takeover of the company.
Meanwhile financial stocks are mixed on the ISEQ today.
Shares in Allied Irish Bank have slipped 5c to €13.65. Shares in Bank of Ireland have climbed 4c to €10.68.
Anglo-Irish Bank shares are unchanged at €15.20 while shares in Irish Life & Permanent have risen 3c to €12.93.
Shares in building materials group CRH are up 4c today to €18.58.
Ryanair shares are up 8c today to €3.70.
The most traded shares today are CRH, AIB, C&C, eircom and Bank of Ireland.
