Exporters hit out at infrastructure problems
21/10/2004 - 11:24:49Ireland has a premier division export-led economy but third division infrastructure, the CEO of the Irish Exporters Association declared today.
John Whelan was speaking today at the group's Portlaoise Convention on Managing Economic Development.
"We have a premier division export led economy-but regrettably a third division infrastructure," he said.
Mr Whelan cited a World Economic Forum survey ranked Irish infrastructure 15th out of 16 for developed countries. "This was poor testimony to five years of the National Development Plan," said Mr Whelan.
