Dubliners ‘regard city as dirty, dangerous and poorly-managed’
20/10/2004 - 07:17:35An EU survey has reportedly found that Dubliners regard their city as one of the dirtiest, most dangerous and worst-managed in Europe.
Reports this morning said Dubliners’ overall level of satisfaction with their city was ranked 24th out of the 31 cities surveyed.
Around 80% of Dubliners questioned by Eurostat reportedly said they were satisfied with the city, but just 19% regarded it as a clean city and just half said they “always felt safe”.
In addition, just 17% said they felt the city’s resources were spent in a responsible way and only 5% said they found it easy to get good housing at a reasonable price.
Despite this, 47% of Dubliners also said they found it easy to find a good job in the city, the highest rate uncovered in all the cities surveyed.
