Taoiseach to meet new EC president in Dublin today
18/10/2004 - 07:58:06The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to meet incoming European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso in Dublin later today.
The meeting is part of Mr Barroso's attempt to forge relationships with European leaders before he takes up his post on November 1.
Among the issues to be discussed are the so-called Lisbon agenda on promoting economic growth, the accession of Turkey into the EU and the proposed EU constitution.
