Law defends Alfie's unsafe sex
18/10/2004 - 12:33:52British heart-throb Jude Law has defended the lack of safe sex in his new film Alfie, insisting his rogue character is too much of an "a**ehole" to consider contraceptives.
The Oscar-nominated actor's character beds a series of beautiful women in the film, including real-life girlfriend Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon and Marisa Timei.
Law says: "Let's be honest, s**t happens. Does everyone out there who sleeps with different women wear a condom? This is the reality of an a**ehole like Alfie. He gets someone pregnant and that's serious - that's not funny.
"We're not making a movie about sugarcoating it all. In the heat of the moment, tanked up on tequila, people don't and that's a reality."
