Govt urged to prioritise nutrition for less well-off

The Labour Party's spokesperson on Agriculture and Food, Dr Mary Upton, has called on the Government to put a proper programme in place to deal with nutrition for the less well-off.

She said surveys have shown that people from lower income groups are more likely to eat filler or junk food which can cause obesity.

Dr Upton said certain Government departments need to join forces to make nutritious food more accessible to those who need it most.
