Jet Li: ‘Terrorist victims are paying for bad karma’
17/10/2004 - 15:38:59Movie star Jet Li is set to provoke outrage, after claiming those who die in terrorist attacks are being paid back for crimes they committed in another life.
The kung fu actor is a devout Buddhist and believes in reincarnation and karma, meaning if people perform bad acts, they will receive comeuppance in another life.
When asked by British mens magazine Arena if he believes victims of horrific deaths, such a terrorist atrocities, have done a bad deed, Li says: "Yes, although it may be karma for something they did ten lives ago ago, rather than something they did in the previous life.
"But even then, I still believe in mediating for everyone, even the bad guy who's broken the law.
"That's why I make sure I never treat people badly."
