Bridge set for Chelsea return
28/09/2004 - 17:48:31Defender Wayne Bridge is back in contention for a starting role in Chelsea’s Champions League tie at home to holders Porto tomorrow night.
Bridge missed the weekend win at Middlesbrough due to a knock sustained against Tottenham, but he was involved in today’s full training session at Stamford Bridge and is set to return at left-back.
Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini was also involved, putting him in line for a possible return to the bench, although Adrian Mutu, Celestine Babayaro and Arjen Robben are still out injured.
Chelsea squad (provisional): Cech, Cudicini, Pidgeley, Ferreira, Johnson, Carvalho, Terry, Gallas, Huth, Bridge, Tiago, Makelele, Lampard, Smertin, Geremi, Parker, Cole, Duff, Drogba, Gudjohnsen, Kezman.
