Brennan reiterates desire to construct Dublin metro

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has reiterated his desire to construct a metro project in Dublin.

Speaking at the launch of the second LUAS line in Dublin this morning, Mr Brennan said a metro would link the city centre with the airport and would also connect the two existing LUAS tram lines.

"The Railway Procurement Agency have agreed a route. They have revisited all the costings and got it to a figure that I believe the Government can live with, so now it's a matter for the Government to push the green button on the project," he said.
