Presidential election to take place on October 22
09/09/2004 - 13:16:11Environment Minister Martin Cullen has announced October 22 as the date for the presidential election.
Mr Cullen said voting would open at 7am and close at 10pm. The closing date for nominations is October 1.
Nobody has yet put their name forward for the election, but current President Mary McAleese is widely expected to seek a second seven-year term.
