McCreevy announces new code of conduct for civil service
09/09/2004 - 17:17:51Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy has announced the introduction of a code of conduct for civil servants.
The code sets out in a single document what principles and standards are expected, including those for service delivery, behaviour at work and integrity of employees.
There are also provisions to deal with the possibility of conflicts of interest when staff leave the civil service to take up jobs in the private sector.
Details of the code will be circulated to all civil servants.
