Three injured in Gaza missile attack
04/08/2004 - 09:54:06An Israeli helicopter fired a missile in the northern Gaza Strip early today, injuring three Palestinians.
The missile was fired in the southern area of Beit Hanoun as a warning to militants not to fire rockets on nearby Israeli areas, Israeli military officials said.
Israel today expanded an operation in the western area of Beit Hanoun, moving five tanks and three bulldozers into the area, military officials said.
The army took over the area in early July to prevent Palestinian militants from firing rockets.
Two Israelis, including a four-year-old boy, have been killed in the Israeli town of Sderot from rocket fire in recent weeks.
Despite the military operation, the launchings have continued almost daily.
