Moore still in line for Premiership move
Craig Moore’s dream ticket to England is still on, according to his agent.
The Rangers defender’s move to Blackburn fell through yesterday after failing to agree terms.
But his agent John Viola has revealed that he will open talks with another English top-flight club about a deal.
Viola said: “It’s a fact that another top English team have shown an interest in him and I have got a meeting with them shortly. I am optimistic something can be done.”
The former Crystal Palace defender was stripped of the Ibrox captaincy after manager Alex McLeish reacted angrily to Moore’s insistence on representing Australia at the Olympics in Athens.
A fee of £500,000 (€757,000) was agreed with Blackburn and the 28-year-old looked to be on his way to join former team-mates Lorenzo Amoruso and Barry Ferguson.
But Viola explained: “The move has fallen through because we just couldn’t put a deal together.
“He is not upset at this at all. He has had many ups and downs in his career and he is looking ahead.
“He is still a Rangers player but he won’t be staying there. He is now concentrating on doing a job with Australia at the Olympics now.
“He is really looking forward to that opportunity but we will see what happens in the next week or two.”
