€1m CCTV system installed at Croker
04/08/2004 - 16:07:50GAA matches in Croke Park are to be monitored by a new high-tech security system which has just been installed in and around the stadium.
200 new CCTV cameras are being put in place at a cost of nearly €1m. A GAA spokesman said the new system will help crowd control both in the grounds and on the approach roads.
“In relation to match day it will be used primarily for crowd control and for people's safety. The approach roads to Croke Park can be picked up clearly on CCTV we can see if there is any build-up on the styles or if there is traffic delays on the road.”
