04/08/2004 - 19:03:00
A Chinese woman murdered in north Belfast has finally been identified two months after she was killed, police confirmed today.

Qu Mei Na’s body had been lying in a Belfast morgue as Police Service of Northern Ireland detectives travelled to China to establish her identity.

The body was found in June in a Ford Escort car in a petrol station on Belfast’s Antrim Road.

Two Chinese men faced charges in connection with her murder.

Police confirmed today Qu Mei Na was 22-years-old and from Dalian city in Liaoning province, north-eastern China.

The victim’s family has been informed, a PSNI spokesman confirmed.

The spokesman paid tribute to the persistence and dedication of officers from north Belfast who travelled to China and the help provided by the Chinese authorities.
