Joe Walsh welcomes new WTO trade deal
01/08/2004 - 12:38:59The Minister for Agriculture and Food, Joe Walsh, has welcomed the new tariffs and trade deal brokered by the World Trade Organisation.
He said that it would bring a significant boost to agriculture in Ireland, as it copperfastens the benefits to Irish farmers of the recently-negotiated reform of the Common Agricultural Policy.
Speaking of the agreement, Minister Walsh said that it covers the three pillars of the agricultural negotiations: domestic support, market access and export competition.
