Motorists urged to obey speed limits this weekend
30/07/2004 - 07:30:52The National Safety Council has called on motorists to obey the speed limits this bank holiday weekend.
A recent survey had found that 70% of Irish motorists believe it is acceptable to break the speed limit.
Spokesman Brian Farrell said: “A lot of people consider speeding to be an issue for young male drivers driving at 20mph over the speed limit, but it applies to us all.
"Even drivers who consider themselves safe drivers need to drive more carefully, especially with such extra traffic volumes on the roads this weekend.”
