Hughes out until Monday
24/07/2004 - 12:33:37Richard Hughes will be out of action until Monday after pulling a muscle in his back.
The rider was due to partner Polar Way in the totesport International Stakes at Ascot this afternoon before going on to Salisbury for five rides tonight.
However, Hughes’s agent Tony Hind reports the rider to be “not quite 100%” this morning.
“He’s just pulled a muscle in his back and he’s playing it safe with it being Goodwood next week by taking a couple of days off,” said Hind.
“I spoke to him this morning and he said he had felt a twinge and was a bit sore. He’s having some physio and he should be back at Windsor on Monday.”
