15/07/2004 - 11:50:18
Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen has announced an extra €1m in funding for organisations working with Irish emigrants in Britain.

Mr Cowen said the extra money would come on top of the €3.57m already allocated to such organisations under the Dion scheme.

He said his Department had now allocated €5m to emigrant services in Britain this year under the Dion scheme and other initiatives.

Mr Cowen said €3.26m had already been provided to 65 projects involving 57 organisations, and the balance of the funding would be distributed later in the year.
