Commissioner alarmed at Morris report
15/07/2004 - 13:53:15Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy has expressed his concern at the findings contained in the first interim report of the Morris Tribunal.
The tribunal has ruled gardaí had been involved in staging hoax explosive and ammunition finds.
It also ruled members of the gardaí had lied to the tribunal.
Commissioner Conroy said today that he was concerned about the impact the findings would have on members of the force and on the public.
He said he had set up a working group to examine the matter and promised that appropriate action would be taken as soon as possible.
