Kearns: Football victory could inspire Limerick

07/07/2004 - 15:12:29
Limerick football boss Liam Kearns says a Munster Final win on Sunday against Kerry would provide a massive boost to GAA in the county.

“What it would mean for the county I just don’t think you could put into words," Kearns told the Evening Echo today.

"Winning a Munster football final would make a big difference. When you look at Clare’s Munster football final win of 1992 it inspired the county’s hurlers to go on and win two All-Irelands in the following years.

“I see no reason why Limerick can’t be successful in both hurling and football. Limerick is a big county. Both games can thrive and feed off each other.”

Limerick will name their starting XV for the decider tomorrow night.
