Superquinn promotes Fairtrade products
Superquinn has announced that it will be forgoing all profits made on Fairtrade products in all its stores.
Fairtrade products are usually more expensive for the consumer because the price includes a significantly better deal for producers in developing countries.
Eamonn Quinn, Superquinn said: “Fairtrade enables consumers to take responsibility for the role they play when they buy products from the Third World.
“We are delighted to be able to support Fairtrade and hope with the lower prices on offer at Superquinn that customers will be encouraged to buy more products from this wonderful range while at the same time helping support marginalised producers and alleviate poverty in developing countries.”
Superquinn’s Fairtrade range includes teas, coffees, chocolate, breakfast drinks and fruit.
