Unsworth's Bolton move off
29/06/2004 - 13:14:46David Unsworth’s expected move to Bolton has broken down over the financial package on offer.
The experienced central defender is out of contract at the end of the month after refusing a new deal at Everton.
A Bolton spokesperson said: “We have failed to agree personal terms with the player.”
Bolton have confirmed, however, that they are interested in securing the services of Portugal defender Nuno Valente.
The 29-year-old Porto captain is currently preparing for the Euro 2004 semi-final against Greece.
The Bolton spokesperson added: “Nuno is on the list of players we have targeted but we haven’t made a bid.”
