Brennan welcomes certainty on Taoiseach's future

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has said he is pleased the uncertainty over the Taoiseach's future has been cleared up.

The Portuguese Prime Minister is expected to be nominated as the new EU Commission President tomorrow, ending speculation that Bertie Ahern would go to Brussels.

Mr Ahern will now face the job of re-building the Fianna Fáil party after its disappointing in the recent local and European elections.
