Taoiseach denies diplomatic wrong-doing
06/06/2004 - 15:10:08The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has responded to accusations that he abused the use of diplomatic facilities in canvassing diplomatic and consular staff for Fianna Fáil candidates.
He has faced stiff criticism from the opposition for the move but he denies any wrongdoing.
"I really think it's regrettable that people try to make a story out of something where we're totally within our legal rights," said Mr Ahern.
