Poll predicts FF local election slump
06/06/2004 - 13:34:15An opinion poll published today is indicating a loss of up to 70 Fianna Fáil council seats after next week's elections.
The Red C poll carried out for the Sunday Business Post shows Fianna Fáil on 29% - a fall of 10% since the last local elections.
Fine Gael are on 23%, up 1%, Labour and Sinn Féin are unchanged on 12% and 11%. The Green Party are down 2% to 5% while the PDs are unchanged at 4%.
The poll also shows 54% of the electorate favour the citizenship referendum with only 29% against.
