Hartson not rushed to sign new Celtic deal
02/06/2004 - 14:47:10Celtic striker John Hartson is in no rush to sign a new deal with the club, according to his agent.
The Wales international has already claimed he wants to remain at Parkhead until the end of his career.
But Hartson’s representative, Jonathan Barnett, maintains negotiations over a new deal are not an immediate concern.
Barnett said: “It is a bit early to say he is on the verge of signing a new contract.
“We are due to talk to Celtic shortly. We are just in general chats, we are not into any serious conversation.
“There is nothing on the table at the moment.”
Hartson missed the final months of the season after undergoing surgery on a back problem.
But the former West Ham and Arsenal striker is expected to return to pre-season training in time for the new campaign.
