Bomb squad called to Ulster politician's HQ
11/05/2004 - 10:54:49British army bomb experts were today examining a suspect device found at the offices of a leading nationalist politician in Northern Ireland.
Soldiers were called to SDLP Assembly member Alex Attwood’s constituency headquarters on the Andersonstown Road, west Belfast.
The alert comes weeks after a bomb-type parcel was delivered to the Northern Ireland Policing Board offices, addressed to Mr Attwood.
The SDLP man, who sits on the authority which holds chief constable Hugh Orde to account, has been one of the most vocal champions of the massive reforms to the police service.
A party spokeswoman said he would not be making any comment.
