Rising oil prices push up BA fares

11/05/2004 - 12:03:39
British Airways fares are to rise because of the increasing price of oil, it was announced today.

From Thursday, BA is adding £2.50 (€3.71) to one-way tickets and £5 (€7.43) for a return trip.

The fuel surcharge applies to BA’s tickets bought in the UK for flights worldwide.

In all markets outside the UK, a surcharge of $4 (€3.38) will be added.

The airline said today: “Due to the continuing fluctuations in the price of oil, British Airways will review this surcharge on a regular basis with a view to adjusting it when appropriate.”
