IOC hold June deadline for Athens roof
04/05/2004 - 12:24:55The International Olympic Committee are still focusing on the end of June as the deadline for the Olympic stadium roof in Athens to be in place.
Reports today revealed that the IOC have given the Greek government a deadline of May 20 to complete the frame of the roof and that if it passes, the Games will go on with no shade from the August heat.
However, it is understood that the roof fitting deadline at the end of June is still the key target.
The IOC will not discuss contingency plans should the deadline not be met as they remain confident that work will be completed.
