Air France goes Dutch
04/05/2004 - 11:59:56Air France has acquired control of KLM Royal Dutch, the two carriers announced today, cementing both their agreed merger and the privatisation of the French airline.
In a joint statement, the companies said they had cleared the last hurdle in the merger they agreed to last year to create Air France-KLM, the world’s biggest airline in terms of revenue – £13bn (€10.8bn).
Shares in the new company will begin trading on Wednesday in Paris, Amsterdam and New York, the statement said.
